Kahuna Bodywork is a deeply nurturing Hawaiian-inspired massage that uses long, flowing forearm strokes, gentle stretching, rhythmic movement, and intentional touch to create a full-body experience. More than simply relieving physical tension, it invites you to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and restore balance to your body, mind, and spirit.
As a Kahuna Bodyworker, I hold a safe and respectful space where you can let go of stress, release stored tension, and experience deep relaxation. Each session is tailored to your individual needs, supporting greater wellbeing, presence, and connection from the inside out.
- Kahuna BodyworkKahuna Bodywork is a Hawaiian modality which incorporates Kahuna principles and combines martial arts, traditional Hawaiian massage (Lomi Lomi) and Hula. It is flowing and dynamic massage-like therapy requiring the practitioner to find and direct energy, bringing this together with intelligences available through their own ancestry. With the aid of posture, leverage and motion, the practitioner is able to perform the bodywork according to the script of the client’s body, thereby facilitating their healing and allowing clients to regain balance and awareness. Kahuna Bodywork also opens pathways for both practitioner and client to unexplored physical, emotional and/or spiritual areas within themselves. It works as a dynamic re-patterning process whereby the rhythmical application of the massage-like strokes allow clients' body-mind-spirit systems to reorganise themselves into a more helpful pattern on a cellular level. Apart from the possible therapeutic effect, the major benefit of Kahuna Bodywork lies in clients' becoming more in touch with their own bodies, and in deeper alignment on emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
- YogaA physical, mental and spiritual practice, Yoga is a Vedic tradition of India and the Himalayas dating more than 2,500 years. Classes are generally 1 - 1 ½ hrs in duration and incorporate physical postures and movement (asanas), breath exercises (pranayama), relaxation and concentration, philosophy, and meditation. Yoga benefits the physical and mental body by enhancing flexibility, improving muscle strength and tone, increasing body awareness, and promoting relaxation and calm.
- Lomi Lomi MassageLomi Lomi is a traditional Hawaiian whole-body massage, also known as ‘prayerful healing.’ Therapists use a combination of breathing and long sweeping strokes using their hands, forearms, elbows, fingers, knees and stones. Unlike other forms of massage, traditional Lomi Lomi sessions begin with preparation in the form of meditation, prayer and breathing exercises. The overall aim is to open energetic pathways and eliminate the source of physical and mental ailments. Lomi Lomi can also assist with lowering blood pressure and improving circulation, flexibility and immune response.
