- Animal AcupunctureAcupuncture is a 3,000-year-old Traditional Chinese Medicine therapy that uses tiny needles inserted into specific acupoints to stimulate the central nervous system and promote the flow of Qi, restoring balance and inducing self-healing. Animal Acupuncture is used to reduce pain and inflammation and improve the quality of life for animals with various disorders. The regulation of Acupuncturists varies by region, and practitioners must hold the appropriate qualifications and licensure/registration to practice legally.
- Equine Facilitated Learning - EFLEquine Facilitated Learning (EFL) is an experiential, relationship-based modality that uses interactions with horses to support self-awareness, emotional growth, communication, and personal development. EFL provides an opportunity to explore patterns of behaviour, emotional responses, boundaries, trust, leadership, and connection in a safe and engaging environment. By building a trusting relationship and connection with horses, clients learn how to better relate to themselves, with others and with their environment, which may then be integrated into their everyday life, EFL is not a substitute for therapy and facilitators need to be aware of the boundary between therapy and learning. When appropriate, EFL practitioners must refer their clients to an appropriate mental or health care professional. Modality can also be known as Equine Experiential Learning (EEL), Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) or Equine Therapy. Sessions may involve horses on a lead, working freely in an enclosed space, or interacting in a suitable natural environment, depending on the objectives and safety considerations.
