Approved Modalities
  • Clinical Hypnotherapy
Clinical Hypnotherapy is the application of hypnotherapy in a clinical setting. A hypnotherapist guides their client through a process of deep relaxation to arrive in a trance-like state by using verbal repition and mental imagry. Hypnotherapy aims to reach subsoncious memories, beliefs, coping strategies and desires to provide insight for individuals who may suffer from pain or anxiety, or assist idividuals to gain control over undesired bahviours. A clinical hynotherapist combines hypnotherapy with counselling or psychotherapy techniques, and can support clients with mood disorders, phobias, sleep disorders, and other mental health or behavioural challenges. Note: Clinical Hypnotherapy is distinct from Hypnotherapy. Each has different study requirements.
  • HypnoBirthing
HypnoBirthing is a childbirth preparation method that utilizes self-hypnosis, relaxation techniques, and education to empower women to have a calm and natural birthing experience. Developed by Marie Mongan in the 1980s, it aims to release fear and tension surrounding childbirth, promoting a state of deep relaxation and trust in the body's natural ability to birth. Through guided imagery, breathing exercises, and positive affirmations, expectant mothers learn to enter a state of self-induced hypnosis during labor, allowing them to work with their bodies rather than against them. HypnoBirthing emphasizes the role of the mind-body connection in labor and delivery, helping women approach childbirth with confidence, relaxation, and a sense of empowerment.
  • Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that utilizes hypnosis to access and influence the subconscious mind. It involves inducing a relaxed state, known as a trance, where the individual is open to positive suggestions and guided imagery. This altered state of consciousness allows the hypnotherapist to work with the client's deeper levels of awareness to address and transform limiting beliefs, behaviours, and emotional patterns. It is a collaborative process that aims to harness the power of the mind for personal growth and healing. For our purposes, it is important to differentiate Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy from Clinical Hypnotherapy. Clinical Hypnotherapists undergo extensive training and are skilled in Counselling/Psychotherapy, making them adept at handling more complex cases such as trauma/PTSD, fears and phobias, sexual dysfunction, and so on.
  • Mediumship / Channeling
Mediumship and channeling pertain to communication between human beings and other living beings, spirits, or conscious forms. A medium or channeller may act as a conduit to relay messages or energies which can support a client to gain insight or guidance from the spirit world. This may assist a client with intrapersonal and relational healing, or to remove blockages which might be impacting their quality of life. Mediumship and channeling sessions can take place in various settings such as in person, over the phone, in a group setting, or at an expose.
  • Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Co-founded by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970’s, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) enables us to understand how our brain processes the words we use and how that can effect our programming and behaviour. Engaging various tools and techniques, practitioners support clients with re-programming their neurology, language and actions. Rather than allowing thoughts to be passive, NLP techniques help to look at thoughts, feelings and emotions as things that can be controlled. Techniques can include things such as Imagery Training, NLP Swish, Modelling, Mirroring, and Incantations.
  • Psychic
Psychics use extrasensory perception to provide their clients with insight or understanding during times of indecision or when they are at a crossroads. They can tap into their client’s past, present, and future through clairaudience (hearing), clairvoyance (seeing images), clairsentience (recognising feelings), and/or claircognisance (knowing). Psychics may also use tools to enhance their readings such as tarot or angel cards, crystals, or runes. Psychic sessions can take place in various settings such as in person, over the phone, in a group setting, or at an expose.
  • Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a form of talk therapy aimed at healing and transformation. It addresses a client's suffering by exploring emotional, physical, relational, existential, spiritual, and behavioral aspects. Psychotherapists establish a therapeutic relationship through deep listening and empathy, supporting clients in resolving conscious and unconscious factors affecting their well-being. The client-therapist relationship serves as a safe space to experience emotions and gain awareness of life patterns. This awareness leads to insights and new ways of being, granting clients freedom from challenging emotions. Regulations for psychotherapy vary by region, and adherence to local laws, titles, licensure, and education requirements is crucial.
  • Reiki III (Master)
Reiki is a hands-on energy healing method developed by Mikao Usui in 1922. What sets it apart is the attunements passed from Teacher/Master to student, opening up their energy fields. Reiki involves transferring universal life force energy from practitioner to client, with hands placed on or above specific body locations. Symbols are used with different intentions, visualized or drawn. Reiki can be done in person or through distant healing, lasting 60-90 minutes. It aids in pain relief, healing, relaxation, and balancing chakras and aura energy. Clients remain clothed on a massage table during sessions. For IICT purposes, a Reiki Master is someone who is qualified to teach and attune others to Reiki.
  • Time Line Therapy®
Founded by Tad James Co. in 1986, Time Line Therapy® is the latest development in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Time Line Therapy® techniques utilize a person’s own internal “Time Line” to work with their unconscious minds in a variety of ways; including, healing emotional traumas and eradicating unwanted thoughts, emotions and behaviours. A person's “Time Line” is how they unconsciously store their memories or how they unconsciously know the difference between a memory from the past and a projection of the future. Behavioural change in an individual takes place at an unconscious level. The Time Line Therapy® techniques allow people to work at the unconscious level and release the effects of past negative experiences and change “inappropriate” programming in minutes rather than days, months or years.
