- Karuna Reiki®William L. Rand developed Karuna Reiki® in 1995 as an extension of Usui Reiki, a hands-on energy healing technique that originated in Japan. Karuna is a Sanskrit word that translates to compassion and includes any action taken to reduce the suffering of others. In addition to the traditional practice of Reiki, Karuna Reiki includes the use of additional symbols adapted from other practices and Reiki masters, working with higher spiritual beings, meditations and verbal chanting.
- Reiki IReiki is a Japanese energy healing modality founded by Mike Usui. In Japan energy is termed Ki and it is from this word that Reiki is derived. The process of attunement or initiation, which is passed from the Master to the student, is what sets Reiki apart from other forms of touch healing. During a typical session, practitioners use palm healing, also known as hand-on-healing, to transfer “universal energy.” Reiki can assist with things such as pain relief, speeding the healing process, inducing relaxation, and balancing of chakras and aura energy.
- Relaxation MassageRelaxation massage is a gentle and soothing form of massage therapy aimed at promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and improving overall well-being. It involves the application of various massage techniques, such as long, gliding strokes, kneading, and circular motions, using a lighter pressure. The primary focus of relaxation massage is to calm the nervous system, relieve muscle tension, and create a sense of deep relaxation. This type of massage is typically performed in a serene and tranquil environment, with the client undressed and covered with a sheet or towel.
- Seichim / SekhemSeichim, derived from ancient Egyptian wisdom, signifies the "power of powers" or universal energy. Revived by modern practitioners like Patrick Scott Zeigler, Pheonix Summerfield, and Diane Ruth Shewmaker, it enriches Reiki by integrating elements like Sakara (Fire), Sophi-Ei (Water), and Angelic-light (Air). Similar to Reiki, practitioners channel divine energy and employ sacred symbols for physical and subtle body healing. However, Seichim uniquely honors Sekhmet, the Egyptian goddess of war and healing, focusing on deep emotional healing and spiritual growth. Beginning at the root chakra and culminating at the crown, Seichim sessions can be hands-on, hands-off, or conducted remotely, aiming to harmonize energies and facilitate holistic well-being.
- Therapeutic MassageTherapeutic massage combines remedial massage and relaxation massage with an aim to work through muscular tightness, increase bloodflow, oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, as well as reduce swelling. Clients may obtain therapeutic benefit and relaxation from one, or several therapeutic massage treatments. The aim of therapeutic massage can vary, whereby the client may be referred by a healthcare practitioner to complement a broader treatment plan. Or, therapeutic massage may be utilised to support greater physical and mental wellbeing for the general population. A therapeutic massage practitioner would tailor each session to the client's needs, within their scope of practice.
- Reiki IIReiki is a hands-on energy healing method developed by Mikao Usui in 1922. What sets it apart is the attunements passed from Teacher/Master to student, opening up their energy fields. Reiki involves transferring universal life force energy from practitioner to client, with hands placed on or above specific body locations. Symbols are used with different intentions, visualized or drawn. Reiki can be done in person or through distant healing, lasting 60-90 minutes. It aids in pain relief, healing, relaxation, and balancing chakras and aura energy. Clients remain clothed on a massage table during sessions.Training provided by Richard Giakoumis
