At Nervana Somatics, we support individuals, groups and communities to cultivate an embodied sense of safety through nervous system psychoeducation, somatic practices, authentic relating and compassionate self-enquiry. Together, we create spaces where masks can soften, vulnerability is welcomed, and people feel genuinely seen, heard and held.
The body remembers what the mind tries to forget. What has been pushed aside doesn't disappear - it often continues to live within our nervous system. Through gentle, trauma-informed somatic education, we rebuild safety, connection and trust, helping you reconnect with your innate capacity for resilience and wellbeing.
My approach also includes gentle shadow work - not as something to fix, but as an invitation to reclaim the parts of ourselves that have been hidden through shame, conditioning or survival. Much of what we call the shadow is not darkness at all, but untapped potential waiting to be welcomed home.
I offer neuro-affirming, LGBTQIA+ inclusive support and am committed to creating spaces where marginalised people feel respected, empowered and able to show up as their authentic selves. My work gently challenges systems of ableism and the pressures of productivity culture, recognising that healing is not something to be earned.
I believe wellbeing should be accessible, community-centred and affordable, not a privilege. My intention is to make nervous system education and embodied healing available to as many people as possible, because safety, connection and belonging belong to all of us.
- Somatic EducationSomatic educators teach people about the connection between the mind, body and movement, focusing on things like somatic processes, body intelligence and awareness, and shadow work. Somatic educators may be trained in various topics such as somatic psychology, nervous system health, somatic therapeutic dance and guided movement, mindfulness and meditation, menstrual cycle awareness, sexual sovereignty, feminine/masculine spirituality, trauma-informed facilitation, embodied leadership, patriarchy, and decolonization. Somatic educators are not trained therapists and must refer clients to qualified healthcare professionals when necessary.
- CounsellingstudentCounselling is a form of talk therapy that enhances self-understanding and promotes mental well-being. Through deep listening and empathy, counsellors establish a positive working relationship which creates a safe and confidential space. Within this context, clients can develop effective ways to deal with anxieties and negative life patterns and gain new perspectives in a non-judgemental environment. Sessions can be carried out in person or via telephone or videoconferencing. In some countries, Counselling is regulated. It is essential you are familiar with and adhere to the laws in your state/province or country which govern the appropriate use of titles, require licensure/registration, or a specific level of education.
