Soo Williams
Strategic Hypnotherapy Center
About

Clinical hypnotherapy is at the heart of Soo Williams’ work. Through Strategic Hypnotherapy Center, Soo supports adults experiencing persistent stress, chronic pain, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, unwanted habits, sleep difficulties and patterns that can feel difficult to change through conscious effort alone.

Her approach is calm, collaborative and individually tailored. Clinical hypnotherapy may be integrated with EMDR, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy®, positive psychology and life coaching to help clients understand their patterns, strengthen internal resources and develop more adaptive responses. Sessions are conducted at a pace that prioritises safety, choice and client readiness.

Soo brings extensive experience in health, therapeutic care and mind–body approaches. Her IICT-approved modalities include Clinical Hypnotherapy, EMDR, Rapid Transformational Therapy®, NLP, NLP Coaching, Time Line Therapy®, Positive Psychology, Life Coaching, Remedial Massage, Myofascial Release Therapy, Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Aromatherapy Massage.

Where appropriate, she may also incorporate gentle complementary practices such as Reiki, Pellowah Healing Technique, Pranic Healing, Access Bars® or Access Energetic Facelift™. These approaches are offered according to the client’s preferences and are used to support—not replace—appropriate medical or psychological care.

Soo works particularly well with women who have spent years coping, caring for others or pushing through discomfort, yet find their body or nervous system is no longer responding in the way it once did. Her aim is to provide a respectful space where clients can slow down, feel understood and begin creating meaningful change.

Appointments are available in person in Mount Sheridan, Cairns, and online via Zoom.

Approved Modalities
  • Remedial Massage
Remedial massage involves the assessment and personalized treatment of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissues. Therapists trained in this field locate the source of pain by examining these structures and posture. They then administer targeted massages to enhance blood circulation, improve joint mobility, and aid tissue repair. Remedial massage therapists usually have specific objectives, such as addressing knee, shoulder, or back injuries, which may necessitate multiple sessions. This type of massage can assist with various conditions, including neck, shoulder, and back pain, injury prevention, headaches, fatigue, arthritis, anxiety/depression, diabetes-related symptoms, and addiction recovery.
  • Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Co-founded by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970’s, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) enables us to understand how our brain processes the words we use and how that can effect our programming and behaviour. Engaging various tools and techniques, practitioners support clients with re-programming their neurology, language and actions. Rather than allowing thoughts to be passive, NLP techniques help to look at thoughts, feelings and emotions as things that can be controlled. Techniques can include things such as Imagery Training, NLP Swish, Modelling, Mirroring, and Incantations.

  • NLP Coaching
Neuro Linguistic Programming Coaching supports clients to access their dormant potential and achieve more in life. NLP Coaches are trained to detect minute clues in facial expressions, tone of voice, and expressions to uncover limiting beliefs and behaviours. Practitioners support their clients to set goals, break addictive habits, improve performance, and transform their relationships.

  • Time Line Therapy®
Founded by Tad James Co. in 1986, Time Line Therapy® is the latest development in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Time Line Therapy® techniques utilize a person’s own internal “Time Line” to work with their unconscious minds in a variety of ways; including, healing emotional traumas and eradicating unwanted thoughts, emotions and behaviours. A person's “Time Line” is how they unconsciously store their memories or how they unconsciously know the difference between a memory from the past and a projection of the future. Behavioural change in an individual takes place at an unconscious level. The Time Line Therapy® techniques allow people to work at the unconscious level and release the effects of past negative experiences and change “inappropriate” programming in minutes rather than days, months or years.

  • Positive Psychology
Positive Psychology is the study of human flourishing, focusing on strengths, well-being, and the promotion of positive emotions and behaviors. It emphasizes the importance of personal growth, resilience, and meaning in life. In holistic therapies like NLP Coaching, Life Coaching, and other helping professions, Positive Psychology is integrated through practices that help individuals build on their inherent strengths, enhance self-awareness, and cultivate a positive mindset. Therapists and coaches use techniques such as reframing, gratitude exercises, and strengths identification to encourage clients to shift their focus from limitations to possibilities. By fostering optimism, emotional intelligence, and a sense of purpose, Positive Psychology helps clients navigate challenges, build healthier relationships, and thrive in all areas of life, leading to greater fulfillment and well-being.

  • Life Coaching
Life coaching is a collaborative and goal-oriented process that helps individuals, businesses, and teams to bridge the gap between their current circumstances and success. They provide guidance, support, and motivation to clients by facilitating self-reflection, exploring values, and setting action plans. Through active listening, questioning, and feedback, life coaches help clients gain clarity, overcome obstacles, and develop strategies to reach their desired outcomes. Life coaching covers various areas of life, such as career, relationships, personal growth, and health. It aims to empower individuals, foster self-awareness, and assist in making positive changes to create a more fulfilling and balanced life.

  • Rapid Transformational Therapy®
Developed by Marisa Peer, Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) combines techniques from NLP, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Hypnosis, and Psychotherapy teaching clients to reframe negative beliefs, values, habits and emotions. Unlike traditional hypnotherapy, which relies on positive reinforcement, RTT® identifies how, where and when unhelpful beliefs and behaviours were formed. Then, using principles of neuroplasticity, practitioners can help clients create new neural pathways in the mind.
  • Reiki II
Reiki is a hands-on energy healing method developed by Mikao Usui in 1922. What sets it apart is the attunements passed from Teacher/Master to student, opening up their energy fields. Reiki involves transferring universal life force energy from practitioner to client, with hands placed on or above specific body locations. Symbols are used with different intentions, visualized or drawn. Reiki can be done in person or through distant healing, lasting 60-90 minutes. It aids in pain relief, healing, relaxation, and balancing chakras and aura energy. Clients remain clothed on a massage table during sessions.
  • Reflexology
Reflexology, with roots dating back thousands of years, was modernized by Dr. William Fitzgerald and refined by Eunice Ingham. Ingham discovered that the feet contain reflexes mirroring organs in the body, and by applying acupressure to these points, positive effects can be created in the corresponding body parts. This gentle complementary therapy, known as reflexology, effectively relieves stress, induces relaxation, boosts immune health, improves circulation, eliminates toxins, alleviates pain, enhances digestion and sleep, lowers blood pressure, and releases muscle tension. After assessing a person's health concerns, practitioners refer to a micro map of the body that corresponds to specific organs, muscles, bones, nerves, lymph nodes, and glands. Applying pressure to these acupoints on the feet, hands, face, and ears helps clear blockages, restore energy flow, and achieve balance. Sessions typically last 50 minutes, and clients can remain fully clothed throughout the treatment.
  • Access Bars®
Access Bars® aims to unlock, or create greater ease from blocks which may be hindering an individual from living a more fulfilled life. The idea is that there are 32 energy channels located on the head, where each channel represents various life domains such as health, money, creativity and so on. An Access Bars practitioner gently touches the 32 energy channels which may help to release thoughts, beliefs, emotions and ideas which might be limiting the individual. Through this process, the aim is to create better alignment between mind and body, which may enable the individual to create a more fulfilled life.
