Approved Modalities
  • Reiki III (Master)
Reiki is a hands-on energy healing method developed by Mikao Usui in 1922. What sets it apart is the attunements passed from Teacher/Master to student, opening up their energy fields. Reiki involves transferring universal life force energy from practitioner to client, with hands placed on or above specific body locations. Symbols are used with different intentions, visualized or drawn. Reiki can be done in person or through distant healing, lasting 60-90 minutes. It aids in pain relief, healing, relaxation, and balancing chakras and aura energy. Clients remain clothed on a massage table during sessions. For IICT purposes, a Reiki Master is someone who is qualified to teach and attune others to Reiki.
  • Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
Founded by Gary Craig in the 1990's, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) draw on various alternative medicine practices including acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming and energy medicine. Treatment involves two-finger tapping on acupuncture points while using acceptance statement(s) to anchor the transformative intent. Depending on the EFT practitioner's level of training and scope of practice, it can be employed to address diverse physical and psychological conditions, including phobias, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and pain.
  • Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Co-founded by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970’s, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) enables us to understand how our brain processes the words we use and how that can effect our programming and behaviour. Engaging various tools and techniques, practitioners support clients with re-programming their neurology, language and actions. Rather than allowing thoughts to be passive, NLP techniques help to look at thoughts, feelings and emotions as things that can be controlled. Techniques can include things such as Imagery Training, NLP Swish, Modelling, Mirroring, and Incantations.
  • Time Line Therapy®
Founded by Tad James Co. in 1986, Time Line Therapy® is the latest development in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Time Line Therapy® techniques utilize a person’s own internal “Time Line” to work with their unconscious minds in a variety of ways; including, healing emotional traumas and eradicating unwanted thoughts, emotions and behaviours. A person's “Time Line” is how they unconsciously store their memories or how they unconsciously know the difference between a memory from the past and a projection of the future. Behavioural change in an individual takes place at an unconscious level. The Time Line Therapy® techniques allow people to work at the unconscious level and release the effects of past negative experiences and change “inappropriate” programming in minutes rather than days, months or years.
  • Life Coaching
Life coaching is a collaborative and goal-oriented process that helps individuals, businesses, and teams to bridge the gap between their current circumstances and success. They provide guidance, support, and motivation to clients by facilitating self-reflection, exploring values, and setting action plans. Through active listening, questioning, and feedback, life coaches help clients gain clarity, overcome obstacles, and develop strategies to reach their desired outcomes. Life coaching covers various areas of life, such as career, relationships, personal growth, and health. It aims to empower individuals, foster self-awareness, and assist in making positive changes to create a more fulfilling and balanced life.
  • Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that utilizes hypnosis to access and influence the subconscious mind. It involves inducing a relaxed state, known as a trance, where the individual is open to positive suggestions and guided imagery. This altered state of consciousness allows the hypnotherapist to work with the client's deeper levels of awareness to address and transform limiting beliefs, behaviours, and emotional patterns. It is a collaborative process that aims to harness the power of the mind for personal growth and healing. For our purposes, it is important to differentiate Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy from Clinical Hypnotherapy. Clinical Hypnotherapists undergo extensive training and are skilled in Counselling/Psychotherapy, making them adept at handling more complex cases such as trauma/PTSD, fears and phobias, sexual dysfunction, and so on.
  • Crystal Healing
Crystal Healing uses the vibrational properties of crystals to bring balance and healing to the mind-body system. Each crystal has unique properties that can address specific emotional or physical blockages. During a typical session, a crystal therapist will strategically place crystals on or around a client to support them with attuning to the crystal’s healing and transformative intelligence. Practitioners may also advise their clients to wear certain crystals, place crystals in their bath or infuse their drinking water, create a crystal grid in their home or workplace, or use crystals as part of a ritual, such as space clearing or intention setting.
  • Colour Therapy
Color Therapy, also known as Chromotherapy, is a holistic healing modality that utilizes the vibrational frequencies of colours to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Based on the principle that different colours correspond to specific energies within the body, practitioners use coloured lights, fabrics, or visualizations to balance and harmonize these energies. Each colour is believed to have unique properties and effects, influencing mood, emotions, and even physiological processes. Colour Therapy is often used in conjunction with other complementary therapies to address a variety of issues, such as stress, anxiety, and mood disorders. It is a non-invasive and gentle approach to wellness, aiming to restore balance and promote holistic health through the power of colour.
  • Meditation
Meditation is an umbrella term for a number of practices that train the meditator to be present to their thoughts with awareness and without judgement. Counter to the conditioning of the mind/body system, positive effects of meditation can be heightened relaxation, the building of etheric energy and deeper awareness. Through either sustained focus, mindfulness, or the cultivation of compassion, meditation can clear the mind and ease many health concerns, such as high blood pressure, depression and anxiety.
  • Past Life Regression Therapy
Past Life Regression Therapy is based on the premise that humans experience many incarnations and there is a carry-over from one life to the next. By guiding clients into a relaxed state (similar to hypnosis), practitioners can help their clients to access memories from a past life in an effort to resolve or find clarity around a specific emotional, physical or spiritual issue. Accessing past lives may also provide insight into why their clients feel drawn to certain places or people or why they have certain talents or affinities. Past Life Regression Therapists are not qualified to provide counselling/therapy and anything outside their scope of practice should be referred to a medical professional.
