Approved Modalities
- BreathworkBreathwork is a therapeutic practice that focuses on conscious control and manipulation of one's breathing patterns to achieve physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. It involves various techniques, such as deep diaphragmatic breathing, rhythmic patterns, and breath awareness. By altering the way one breathes, breathwork can help reduce stress, improve relaxation, and enhance self-awareness. It is used for purposes like managing anxiety, releasing emotional blockages, and promoting mindfulness. Breathwork is a versatile and accessible tool that empowers individuals to harness the profound connection between their breath and their overall health, offering a path to greater inner peace and vitality.
- Somatic Experiencing®studentThe Somatic Experiencing® method is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders. It is the life’s work of Peter A. Levine, PhD, resulting from his multidisciplinary study of stress physiology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, psychology, and indigenous healing practices, together with over 50 years of successful clinical application. The SE™ approach releases traumatic shock and restores connection, which is key to transforming PTSD and the wounds of emotional and early developmental attachment trauma. SE offers a framework to assess where a person is “stuck” in the fight, flight, or freeze responses and provides clinical tools to resolve these fixated physiological states. It provides effective skills appropriate to a variety of healing professions including mental health, medicine, physical and occupational therapies, bodywork, addiction treatment, first responses, education, and others.
- Bowen TherapyFounded by Thomas Ambrose Bowen (1916–1982) in Australia, Bowen Therapy, also known as Bowtech, is a remedial bodywork technique. Bowen Therapy gently works with the fascia to treat musculoskeletal problems, injuries, organic, and chronic conditions. Gentle hand movements are performed on muscles, tendons, and ligaments, as well as the fascia. The aim of this approach is to reduce pain through nervous system stimulation.
