About

Chair Yoga Your Way
Hi I am Naomi,

I offer fully seated, chair-based yoga instruction online, with classes designed to support balance, flexibility, strength and mental wellbeing for people of all ages and abilities. At Chair Yoga Your Way, my aim is to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive space where everyone feels comfortable and supported. Every class is fully seated and adaptable, with a range of options and modifications to help you find movements that work for your individual body, ability and comfort.

I encourage the use of yoga blocks and other supportive props throughout my sessions. I use them myself and believe they are a wonderful way to make movements and poses more accessible and comfortable.

Throughout each session, I offer a range of options and modifications so you can choose what feels right for your body. There is no need to force a movement or “keep up” — the aim is to find a variation that works for your individual physical needs, ability and comfort.

There is no “right” way to do a pose — there is the right way for you.

Whether you are new to yoga, looking for a gentler way to move, have limited mobility, or simply prefer to practise from a chair, you are welcome here.

Currently Online sessions available one on one or in group sessions via messenger & Zoom.

Approved Modalities
  • Chair Yoga
Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga in which postures are performed while seated in a chair or with the aid of a chair. It is ideal for beginners, people with physical limitations, elderly men and women or those seeking a gentle practice. Chair yoga can also be incorporated into a yoga class to assist with balance or getting down to and up off the floor. Depending on the qualifications of the practitioner, a chair yoga session may also include pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation and mindfulness practices.
  • Meditation
Meditation is an umbrella term for a number of practices that train the meditator to be present to their thoughts with awareness and without judgement. Counter to the conditioning of the mind/body system, positive effects of meditation can be heightened relaxation, the building of etheric energy and deeper awareness. Through either sustained focus, mindfulness, or the cultivation of compassion, meditation can clear the mind and ease many health concerns, such as high blood pressure, depression and anxiety.
  • Holistic Counselling Skills for Meditation Teachers
Holistic Counselling Skills for Meditation Teachers is a course offered by Mind Body Education schools. Meditation practitioners are equipped with foundational holistic counselling skills to incorporate into their group and one-on-one sessions. These skills may include life charting, reflection time, needs assessment, journaling, worry time, positive thinking skills, affirmations, and using meditation as a healing tool. By providing instructors with these additional skills, they can provide a more holistic approach to meditation.
