Meridian Biokinetics
About

Dr Glynis Longhurst is the founder of Meridian Biokinetics, where she brings together her extensive background in movement, rehabilitation, education, and complementary wellbeing practices.

Her approach to Restorative Therapy combines gentle hand acupressure, therapeutic tuning forks, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and functional movement. Glynis is passionate about helping people reconnect with their bodies, ease tension, improve movement, and create a greater sense of balance and wellbeing.

At the heart of her work is a simple philosophy: meet each person where they are and support the body gently, rather than forcing change.

Approved Modalities
  • Acupressure
Acupressure is an alternative medicine technique often used in conjunction with acupuncture or reflexology. It is based on the concept of life energy, which flows through meridians in the body. In treatment, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points, or ashi trigger points, with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians. Pressure may be applied by hand, by elbow, or with various devices.
  • Energy Healing
Energy Healing is an umbrella term for the hands-on transference of energy from practitioner to client, balancing the energetic field in their physical and subtle bodies. The general principle is when energy (also known as chi, qi and prana) gets blocked due to physical, mental and chemical stressors, it can promote ‘dis-ease’ in the body. By clearing these pathways via the chakras, meridians, auric body and nadis practitioners can support a person’s innate healing system and promote physical and emotional well-being. Energy healing can be conducted hands-on, hands-off, or transmitted via distance healing. There are several energy healing modalities. For specific techniques such as Reiki, Pranic Healing, Crystal Healing, etc…please refer to those individual modalities.
